ABOUT US
A small cultural consultancy. Big ideas, deliverable scale
Why "Pocket'
From the saying "in this pocket of the city" — a particular place, a neighbourhood, a community. The word carries warmth, intimacy and care. It's how we approach our work.
We work at the intersection of culture, place, and delivery — supporting projects that bring people together and add joy, beauty and connection to the places they inhabit.
We operate between the property and creative industries, translating different teams as they work towards shared outcomes through culture, collaboration, and clarity.
What we believe
- Culture rooted in place and lived experience
- Collaboration over competition
- Care for people, process and environment
- Long-term value over short-term visibility
What we're interested in
Three things make our work distinctive:
- Breadth — culture in its widest sense, from art and design to gardens, sport and literature.
- Nature, water and wellbeing in place — blue-green spaces, ecology, the outdoors as cultural ground.
- The long view — placing communities and lived experience at the centre of the work.

Founder & Associates
Pocket Creatives is led by Lucy Bawden, a cultural producer with 18 years of experience in cultural strategy and programming across the UK, France and internationally. Her background spans auction houses, residential development, commercial estate programming and cultural curation — including work for Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee for Royal Parks, the Chelsea Fringe Festival at Battersea Power Station, and major regeneration schemes. She lives between France and the UK.
How we work
Small, trusted, hands-on. Lucy plus a network of specialist associates — strategists, sustainability and ecology experts, social value consultants, public art specialists, designers, artists — assembled to suit each project. This keeps the work close to the people doing it.
We work between the UK and Europe with clients spanning regeneration, BIDs, councils and institutions partnerships in cultural programming and the arts.
